Crowd Pleasers-National Showcase of Champions
San Antonio, March 9-10, 2012
Cavalette Silver Line received the honor of becoming National Champions in the Elite category. All three of their routines, Jazz, Hip Hop and Pom, won individual National Champion Awards as well with Pom receiving a choreography award as well. Silver Line also received many judges awards including, Technical Merit and The Elite Circle.
The Cavalette officers also competed three routines this weekend. Their lyrical routine was 2nd runner-up National Champions and received a choreography award, their jazz routine was 1st runner-up and their pom routine received the honor of National Champions. They also received a judge’s award, The Elite Circle. The Cavalette Officers placed as 2nd runner-up National Champions over all other officer groups that competed.
The Cavalettes also took 3 ensembles, performed by Amy B, Haley C, Kendall F, Mikaela H, Audrey T, Allie W and Annie W. Their routine to “A Little Respect” placed as 2nd runner-up National Champions.
In the Duet category, Sara and Stacey A. won National Champions over all other duets for their routine to “Heavy Cross.” In the Senior Solo category Stacey A. placed as 1st runner-up National Champion for her solo to “Boom” and in the Junior Solo category, Brooke H. received National Champion for her solo to “Burlesque.”
HTE-Central Texas Regional Dance Team Championship
Pflugerville, February 25, 2012
Team
Cavalette Silver Line competed 3 routines and placed 1st with their Jazz and Pom routines. They received Division Champions and a Sweepstakes award. They also received judge’s awards for Technique and Outstanding Choreography.
Cavalette Officers competed 3 routines as well and placed 1st in Lyrical and Pom and 2nd in Jazz. They received Grand Champion Runner-Up and a Sweepstakes award as well as Outstanding Choreography and Technique.
The Red Rubies also competed 3 routines and placed 1st in Lyrical and 2nd in Jazz. They received a Sweepstakes award and Technique award.
Amy B., Haley C., Kendall F., Mikaela H., Audrey T., Allie W., and Annie W. competed 3 medium ensembles and placed 1st with their Jazz routine to ‘Slap'.
Duet/Trio
In the duet/trio category Lauren P. and Ciara R. placed 5th with their duet to ‘Heavy in your arms’; Kendall F., Audrey T. and Annie W. placed 4th with their trio to ‘Sail’; Julie B. and Alex P. placed 3rd with their duet to ‘Forever Young’; Brooke H. and Kennedy D. placed 2nd with their duet to ‘Caged’; and Sara A. and Stacey A. placed 1st with their duet to ‘Heavy Cross’
JV Duet
In the JV duet category Melanie R. and Daniela K. placed 1st with their ‘Ain’t No Other Man’
Solos
In the 9-10 grade solo division, Brooke H. placed 2nd with her solo to ‘Burlesque’ and Sara A. placed 1st with her solo to ‘Don’t Stop’
In the 11-12 grade solo division, Kendall F. placed 10th with her solo ‘The Garden’, Amy B. placed 8th with her solo ‘Snow’, Caitlin A. placed 6th with her solo ‘Make It Without You’, Lauren P. placed 5th with her solo ‘Metamorphosis’, Christen U. placed 2nd with her solo ‘Held’, and Stacey A. placed 1st with her solo ‘Boom’

The Cavalettes won the State Tittle in the Super Team Division and were awarded a sweepstakes, Gussie Nell Davis Award of Excellence along with Judge’s Awards for Technique, Presentation, Precision, and Overall Choreography. The team also received a coveted ‘Best of the Best’ award, placing 5th overall and representing the as the only team from the Super Team Division receiving this award.
The Dance Officers Won the State Tittle in the Officer Super Team Division and were awarded a sweepstakes, Gussie Nell Davis Award of Excellence along with Judge’s Awards for Technique, Presentation, Precision, and Overall Choreography.
Lake Travis represented with 7 out of the 10 Super Team Solo Finalist.

Cavalettes Win Super Team Division
In the Super Team Division the Cavalettes placed 1st for each category; Jazz, Modern and Kick. Out of the 21 teams in attendance the Cavalettes received 2nd runner up Grand Champion. The Dance Officers also competed in the Varsity Officers category and placed 1st runner up Grand Champion. Officer’s placed 1st in Pom, 2nd in Jazz, and 3rd in lyrical in their respective categories. The Team and officers were honored with a judges award for choreography and officers won judges award for technique.
Solos
Individually there were 127 soloists who competed in the high school divisions. There were 8 Cavalettes who were selected as Solo finalists. There were two high school categories 9th-10th and 11th-12th.
